BMW Group continues on BEV growth path: Milestone of one million fully-electric vehicles reached
BMW Group is steadfastly advancing on the path of electric vehicle (EV) development, having delivered a total of 82,700 pure electric BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles to global customers as of the first quarter of 2024. This signifies a remarkable year-on-year growth of over 27.9% in the sales volume of BMW Group’s pure electric cars. The achievement owes much to balanced performance across major regions worldwide.
Jochen Goller, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, stated during an interview, “The delivery of our one millionth pure electric vehicle since the launch of the BMW i3 underscores the appeal of our product portfolio. Alongside pure electric models, vehicles equipped with highly efficient combustion engines and plug-in hybrid technology remain integral components of BMW Group’s powertrain mix.”
In 2024, BMW Group will continue to introduce compelling electric products and sustain consistent growth in EV production amidst volatile market conditions. Additionally, sales of high-end luxury models have also seen significant year-on-year growth (up by 21.6% in the first quarter). The BMW 7 Series achieved double-digit growth in sales globally compared to the same period last year.
BMW Group’s EV sales strategy will continue to emphasize selectivity to meet evolving customer demands. We anticipate substantial double-digit growth in both pure electric cars and high-end luxury models in these two domains this year
