Realtek RTL8771AW

Item Description

General Description

The RTL8771AW-CG is a high-performance GNSS single chip that supports a multi-standard (GPS/ Beidou/Glonass) positioning solution. The RTL8771AW includes on-chip RF, baseband, and RISC CPU. The RTL8771AW achieves high-performance low-SNR tracking/acquisition sensitivity, and fast Time-to-First-Fix (TTFF). The RTL8771AW also provides various navigation applications including SBAS/DGPS (WAAS, MSAS, EGNOS, etc.) and AGPS, which speeds the positioning time.

With an on-chip integrated LNA, RTL8771AW delivers a total receiver noise figure of 2.6 dB (before ADC). RTL8771AW has on chip regulators easily integrated into your system without extra voltage regulator. The crystal supporting feature allows users to implement low-cost design circuit with minimum BOM cost.

With an embedded 32-bits RISC controller running at 87MHz, the system performs time-critical processes, including data decoding and positioning. The real-time operating system also allows for efficient task scheduling.

The RTL8771AW offers an RS-232 data port and I2C interface for data exchange. The configurable RS-232 interface enables use of a higher data rate to send more data, as well as National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) packets. Standard pre-defined HCI commands make the RTL8771AW easy and flexible to configure.

Realtek Semiconductor Corp

Realtek Semiconductor Corp., located in the Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park — Taiwan’s “Silicon Valley” — began with a small group of young, devoted engineers in 1987. Over three decades, these young founding engineers built Realtek into one of the world’s largest and most successful IC design houses.

Realtek’s efforts to provide the ultimate in pioneering IC technology — along with its firm commitment to creating unique and innovative designs for a broad range of high-tech applications — have won the company a worldwide reputation and made possible a favorable and consistent growth rate in the years since its establishment. We attribute this achievement to Realtek’s tradition of excellence.

Through strength, persistence, and adaptability, Realtek follows in the spirit of the crab.

From establishment in 1987 by seven skilled and committed engineers, through several years of tough times, to today’s success as a premier IC design house, Realtek has overcome numerous challenges to achieve consistent growth. We value our ability to foresee market trends and demands and to commit ourselves to technological innovation to meet those demands.

We have positioned ourselves as designers and distributors of IC products developed through extensive research into market and customer needs. We recognize that the key to our success is in the value we provide to new technologies, products, applications, and markets.

Employees are Realtek’s most important asset, and as the pillars of a culture of confidence and trust, are recognized as the key to our success. Growing and optimistic individuals have demonstrated a positive impact on the company’s growth.

Realtek employees are empowered with authority and given freedom to make decisions to determine the best methods to approach issues. Employees are encouraged to develop freely and work autonomously, and are evaluated on ability and performance, under healthy and fair competition standards, allowing each individual to progress and achieve advanced corporate and personal goals.
