Elig Brake Technologies Corp. (formerly Elig Industrial Co. LTD.) was established in 1998. The founders devoted to the development of eco-friendly products of non-asbestos friction materials, and that has successfully applied to bicycle disc brake systems – a pioneer in the industry.
(Asbestos is classified as a first grade carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, IARC, where the Taiwan Environmental Protection Agency announced on February 2nd, 2012 to ban its use in the manufacture of brake lining after July 1st, 2018.)
Subsequently, the disc and drum brakes for automobiles, motorcycles, and wet clutches that are made of non-asbestos eco-friendly friction materials were also successfully developed. In order to continuously innovate the products, technical collaboration with the research labs in the US and Japan was conducted, and the manufacture technologies of high-performance sintered alloy brake plates have been introduced from the main US manufacturers in 2006. Our products are selling to several tens of countries in the world. Either typical riding on normal roads or on racing tracks and other fields, all are highly praised by all the customers.
