(Asbestos is classified as a first grade carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, IARC, where the Taiwan Environmental Protection Agency announced on February 2nd, 2012 to ban its use in the manufacture of brake lining after July 1st, 2018.)
Subsequently, the disc and drum brakes for automobiles, motorcycles, and wet clutches that are made of non-asbestos eco-friendly friction materials were also successfully developed.
